STR38 MOTORSPORTS ACHIEVES PODIUM FINISH AT NOLA MOTORSPORTS PARK
NOLA Motorsports Park, USA - STR38 Motorsports had a strong showing at the second round of the Pirelli GT4 America series this weekend with both entries showing strong pace throughout the weekend. Despite weather delays and race cancellations, the team once again demonstrated their resilience and skill, ending the day with a podium finish for the #88 car to top it all off.
Car #88, driven by Chandler Hull and Harry Gottsacker in the Silver class, qualified fifth in class and moved up the field to secure a podium in third place in what turned out to be a thrilling photo finish. Car #438, driven by Robert Mau and Chris Allen in the Am class, had a strong start, qualifying second in class and bringing the car home across the line in third. Unfortunately, they were penalized for a pit lane violation and dropped to fifth.
Jon Miller, Team Manager: “I have to give a huge shoutout to our GT4 drivers – Chandler Hull and returning team driver, Harry Gottsacker put the #88 up front all weekend and took home a podium finish. Chris Allen and Robert Mau once again showed that they are Am class championship contenders by qualifying P2 and leading their class for much of the race. Both GT4 crews earned solid points. We continue to learn more about these cars – there’s more to come!"
Harry Gottsacker, driver #88: “It was really great to join the STR38 Motorsports team for the GT4 America event at NOLA Motorsports Park. Chandler and I worked really hard with the team to continue to develop this new platform and we were rewarded with a podium finish in the race! Looking forward to more successful runs with this bunch in the future!"
Chandler Hull, driver #88: “This weekend was anything but ordinary. Having Saturday’s race cancelled due to weather meant that Harry and I only had one opportunity to show everyone what we could do with our BMW M4 GT4. We both left everything on the track and ended up P3, even with a penalty and some post-race confusion!"
Chris Allen, driver #438: “I’m looking forward to working on my driving and my mustache in preparation for COTA. Everything was all roses in New Orleans except for the canceled race... and our penalty which ultimately led to us not claiming the top step of the podium. Other than that everything was perfect, the team did a great job and the STR38 Motorsports BMW is ready to do work down in Texas! "
Robert Mau, driver #438: “It was a great feeling to be at the front of the grid in NOLA and to see Chris Allen running 1st overall for a couple of laps. We were super competitive and STR38 Motorsports gave us a rocket ship. I can’t wait for COTA."
STR38 Motorsports would like to thank partners, Cannonball Storage, OVN, Simseats, Ozium, Caza de Oro, MOTUL, HRX and BMW Motorsport for their support. Jon Miller will re-join Chandler Hull at Circuit of the Americas in the #88 entry while Harry Gottsacker is at the renowned Nurburgring 24 hour.
