Samantha Tan is a 20-year old professional race car driver from Gormley, a town located 27 kilometers north of Toronto in Ontario, Canada. Her interest in cars started at the young age of 5 when her father bought her a Power Wheels Jeep. She fondly recalls drifting around the driveway in front of her house and was always striving to complete a full 360. Later, at the age of 14, Tan was the youngest driver to participate in the Ferrari Driving Experience at Mont Tremblant, Quebec, where she ultimately made her decision to start racing.

In early 2014, she competed in the National AutoSport Association (NASA) and achieved one 2nd place and two 3rd place finishes in her first few races. During the summer months, she was a part of the Canadian Touring Car Championship in the #45 Mini Cooper S JCW. Samantha finished 5th out of 22 cars in the Touring Class and was recognized as Rookie of the Year. In 2015, Samantha competed in her first international series, Pirelli World Challenge, in the #38 Kinetic Motorsports Kia Forte. From this season on, she had multiple top 5 finishes throughout various series, earned a couple Hard Charger awards, and was the 2015 CTCC Team Champion.
Beyond the driver's seat, Samantha Tan is currently studying Economics at the University of California, Irvine and resides in Southern California. Her passions include playing piano, creating beautiful artwork, playing video games, and of course, driving her BMW 1M.

The Canadian race car driver has always been involved with children’s needs.

Every year during her holiday break, Samantha fundraises for a local children’s hospital by hosting a charity track day at one of her home race tracks.

During race weekends, she is able to dedicate time to showing local Girl Scout troops around the pits and race cars. Inspiring children, especially young girls to follow their passions has always been a keen interest to Samantha.
